Ultracet [Tramadol + Acetaminophen] Description

The two generic components of Ultracet - Tramadol and Acetaminophen - give relief from pain. Tramadol, a hydrochloride salt, is a synthetic analgesic and works similarly to morphine by dulling the sensation of pain. Acetaminophen, one of the most widely used analgesics, also targets pain signals in the brain, giving relief from pain. Ultracet is a narcotic-like painkiller, used in moderate to severe pain, and can lessen fever.

Uses of Generic Ultracet

This medicine is for short-term treatment of moderate or severe pain, which may be due to Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, and post-surgery [including dental procedures]. For use in children, consult the pediatrician.

How to Use Ultracet

The dose is dependent on individual medical condition. Take the dose exactly as prescribed, for an overdose can be fatal. It is usually 2 tablets a dose, to be taken 4 times daily. The medicine may be taken with a glassful of water, with/without meals, but take it the same way each time.

Missed Dose of Ultracet

  • Triptans such as Eletriptan, Frovatriptan, or Sumatriptan
  • Cardiac antidysrhythmics like Lanoxin
  • Anti-coagulants like Warfarin

Storage of Ultracet

Precautions of Ultracet
